Obey Sample Sale

Miguel did not give us our free hugs.
Here it is in all it’s glory. Inspired by 80’s skateboarding and The Cramps, with artwork by Joe King. Again, a huge thank you to Chris Broders and the rest of the team at OBEY Clothing for making this happen. The shirt will go on sale tonight, Friday 5/29 at midnight via the 530medialab online store and the OBEY Clothing online store. A limited amount will be available on each store. Tell a friend, better yet tell a few friends!
So here is another detail of the OBEY Clothing X 530medialab collaboration that will be dropping on Saturday 5/30. Be sure to sign-up for the 530 mailing list to get more information, just click on the “Newsletter” option in the upper right hand corner of the main 530 site.
This Saturday (5/30) marks the 9 year anniversary of 530medialab and what better way to celebrate then to be able to offer another limited edition collaboration tee. 2 years ago we started this tradition with The Hundreds, offering 53.0 shirts on 5/30, last year we did the Black Friday pack with Triumvir, and this year we were lucky enough to do something with Obey Clothing. Each day until Saturday we will post a different detail of the Tee graphic (which came out AMAZING). A huge thank you to Chris Broders at Obey Clothing, and to Long Beach’s own Joe King for doing up the graphic. The shirt will be up for sale starting this Saturday, May 30th via the 530medialab online store, and the Obey Clothing online store. A limited amount will be available on each store— don’t sleep!
Tuesday we made our way down to the groupY event at Detroit Bar. This event included people from Vans, Vestal Watch and Fuel TV discussing the integration of music and brands. It was a good discussion, maybe not 100% on board with our ideas but still a good time. We had the chance to meet up with Derek Boucher from Vestal Watch and Vestal Radio. We worked with Derek many years ago on the first few Vestal sites, that was some fun stuff and we are looking forward to the opportunity to work with them again.
Ok, now a bone to pick. If you show up for an event that envolves a discussion, don’t make your way in front of people to only gossip with your BFF about how cute your dog is cause it will fit in your purse. For those of you that don’t know, Detroit Bar (or Club Mesa as many of us remember it) is not exactly a big place, and a little noise goes along way especially when you are trying to listen to a group of people talk. Yes, I know, I am getting old. Deal with it. – B
While looking at video of the Triumvir x Attic Black party, I got a glimpse of our New Era on Mr Attic himself. Good looking out Jimmy, thank you. And thank you to Triumvir for the screen grab. We have a few of our Hall of Fame x 530 New Era’s available in our online store, including the Black on Black, and the White on Black pictured.
Tuesday night we checked out the mediabistro.com cocktail party at Social Hollywood. We had a good time chatting it up with other media professionals and look forward to attending future Media Bistro events.
My friend and I decided to join a team of strangers and compete in a 188 mile/ 24 hour relay race from Santa Barbara to Dana Point. The beer at the finish line tasted really good!
