Microsoft has recently released images and videos of their upcoming e-book / table device, Courier. Based on the videos, the interface appears pen-based and has accurate hand-writing recognition, and comes with a built-in camera. Check out what the Microsoft Courier can do for you in this video which showcases Nike Sportswear, a client of ours.

TED2010 happened last week here at Long Beach. TED started out as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. The range of topics and speakers, which include Bill Gates and James Cameron, have become even broader, yet the community have managed to keep it’s two purposes: To seek a deeper understanding of the world, and hope to turn that understanding into a better future for us all.
One thing that caught my eye was the topic of using lasers to control mosquito populations.
These lasers have the ability to track and kill mosquitoes and were made with parts found on eBay. Current methods of eradicating malaria aren’t working well in Third World countries, and so Intellectual Ventures Laboratory have devised this solution. They are currently examining it’s cost effectiveness to deploy in places like Africa.
This solution seems to be working better than my current one:
